Multifaith engagement for the Southern Hemisphere

Two significant items from global religious demographics noted by Pew in a 2015 report seem important for strategists on multifath engagement. First, world Christianity will continue find its growth and center of influence in the Southern Hemisphere, not the West, and will be of a very traditional and conservative expression of that faith, and one that has largely negative perceptions of other religions (as another Pew survey revealed). Second, Islam will continue to grow in the US and around the world. So the challenge for forward thinking strategists in religious diplomacy and peacemaking is, how do we not only prepare Christian leaders in the West, but perhaps more so in the Southern Hemisphere, with the tools for diplomatic forms of Christian-Muslim engagement around the world? And how can this be done without engaging in or giving the perception of colonialism, and trying to export a more modern or liberal expression of Christianity?
