I recently learned that Pickwick Publications, part of Wipf & Stock, has agreed to publish a book I am co-editing and contributing to dealing with the importance of emotion in relation to multi-faith engagement. I will work with Brandon Benziger on the editing, whom I had the privilege of interviewing here previously. The book is tentatively titled 'He Had Compassion for Them': Orthopathy in Multi-faith Engagement. The various chapters are organized in three parts. Part I addresses Biblical, Theological, and Social-Psychological Foundations. Part 2 covers Orthopathy and Heteropathy in Multi-faith Engagement. And Part 3 addresses Avenues of Orthopathic Engagement. The contributors are noted scholars in their fields, including folks like Terry Muck formerly of Asbury Theological Seminary, Amos Yong of Fuller Seminary, and Paul Louis Metzger of Multnomah Biblical Seminary. We are under contract and plan on submitting the edited manuscript to the publisher this October. More details to come as the publication date gets closer.
